Hello!  I'm Jane Hanser.  We're really glad that you stopped by the ESL Help Desk, your home page for questions and comments about English grammar. Let's be honest:  The school year is almost over and people are asking each other the question, "What are you doing for vacation?" or "Are you going anywhere special this summer"?  Today we're going to present you with an essay written by Wilfrido Lopez, in which Wilfrido writes about the beauty of his native country, Ecuador.  Listen to Wilfrido's description.  Doesn't it make you want to travel there?

Before You Listen:

What colors do you think of when you think of your native country?  Why?
Look at the photographs below, and answer the questions you see.
Study the vocabulary to the left.  Have you heard of any of the places listed?
Then listen to the story!

What do you see in the photo above?

Look at all the footprints in the sand!  How far have these people walked?
