Today is Wednesday, October 9th, 2007, and this is your ESL Help Desk welcoming you to today's ESL lesson.

Here's a little exercise for those of you who either like grammar or want to learn more about English grammar.
We're going to show you a sentence.
First, find the main subject of the sentence, and then find the
main verb.
Then find all the nouns,
verbs, adjectives, adverbs,
prepositions and conjunctions.

I really like
my class, but Mr. Thomas is always talking about grammar because we don't understand English well enough.

The main subject of the sentence is "I" and the
main verb is "like". The
sentence also has a secondary subject, "Mr. Thomas" and a
secondary verb,
"is talking". The sentence also has a dependent clause, and
the subject of the dependent clause is "we" and the
verb of the dependent
clause is "don't understand".
